New fears Ebola could spread after American dies

A top doctor known for his influential role fighting the Ebola outbreak in Africa has died from the virus.

It's the largest and most deadly Ebola outbreak on record. So far, it's claimed nearly 700 lives. Ebola typically kills 90 percent of those infected and not even know it.

Liberia closes its borders to stop Ebola

Erin Burnett OutFront reported Monday, two Americans have tested positive for the virus after treating Ebola patients.

U.S. officials are on alert after an American boarded a flight last week not knowing he had Ebola. He died just days later.

So, is Ebola just a plane ride away from the U.S.?

Jean Casarez is OutFront with the report.

With a virus that deadly, quarantine the countries involved for 45 days. There is no reason to permit anyone from those African countries to enter the United States for ANY reason.
