"That's my question: where is 'there'" – Erin Burnett asks Dore Gold where civilians can seek safety amid Middle East violence

On the heels of a UN school coming under attack in Gaza, on Wednesday evening Erin Burnett welcomed Dore Gold, asking the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where civilians fleeing violence in the Middle East are expected to go.

Hamas has reportedly been using U.N. schools as a storage area for rockets and missiles, a practice that is leaving innocent Palestinians with few options to seek safety. Israel has made attempts to move Palestinians out of areas of conflict, but with the borders closed, Burnett's question remains unanswered.

Watch the above video for the full conversation between the "Erin Burnett OutFront" host and her guest Dore Gold.

Erin, the war has some rules. Unfortunate, not the Palestinians, not the Israelis know this rules, or brake these rules.

thank you for the reply. watching the war in Lebanon, I learned that claims of civilian deaths and shots of children in hospitals are for Hollywood productions to fool the naive. BBC and new york times this weekend came out with stories that the Palestinian death tolls appear to be bogus. Reporter from numerous countries have now come clean and reported that that their reporting was influenced by Hamas threats. noticed to pics of Hamas fighters rockets being fired or people in the hospital bleeding? what about the Palestinians hung and shot by Hamas for being traitors who covered that story, and Israel also blamed for those civilian deaths too?

Erin, for the last couple of days, while questioning Israeli Diplomats, you have been suggesting that Israel should hold back on firing into areas it is attacked from because they have arm superiority and technology. Need I remind you that when the US went to fight Al Qaida in Afghanistan they took their aircraft carriers, army, air force, and everything else at their disposal, short of a nuclear bomb, in order to combat terrorist with guns, explosives, and their will do kill as many Americans as they can? In all that time while covering the Afghan war where many thousands of American soldier died and got hurt you did not blame or shed a tear for the many local citizens killed while either helping or being used as human shields by the terrorists. It was very clear to you and the world that if terrorist fire from a location with a gun that kills then it is expected that they would be fire back on at that location. A strong moral army with superior technology saves lives. Terrorist with guns and explosive take every life they can even of their own people in order to achieve their goal. If the world would send out the message to terrorists or an opposing armies that they will never be fired upon if they embed themselves within civilians using them as human shields then just hand them the keys to your country and let them kill you. And believe me they will kill you without even giving it a second thought. In all this you seem to forget to mention that Hamas are terrorists governing Gaza by the will of their people, supposedly democratically. If Hamas really cared about their people and to keep them safe they would designate a true safe area for their people to have shelter and not place any arms, missiles, tunnels, explosives, arms soldiers, etc. And they would not shoot from there, period. I promise you if this were truly done you would have no civilian casualties at all. So it is all in their control as to where to store their arms and fire from. If there is a will there is a way. Hamas chooses this way because this is there will.
If you do not mind I would like to put you in the drivers seat for a moment. If you were president of the USA and Cuba fired missiles at you sending you to shelters and stopping your every day life and safety, not killing many due your superiority in arms and technology, how many would you let them fire upon you before putting your foot down? One, ten, fifty, one hundred, one thousand? What would be your tolerance level? Now add 100 tunnels to infiltrate your territory, kidnapping your children and killing them, killing your citizens out of the USA, etc.
Since you are so quick to ask the questions I would love to hear your answer. If you were just reporting fairly I would say you are just reporting. However that is not what you are doing at all. You are taking sides using your platform to show your emotions and give your opinions. Every time an American soldier was killed or hurt you would show a sad emotion as if it was one of your own. In all this time with Israel you have not managed to show one emotion towards one Israeli solider getting killed or wounded by a terrorist that wants you just as dead. The only thing standing between you and one of these fundamental terrorists wanting to kill you is that he first wants to get rid of the Jews (not just Israel).

Ironic. Cuba did not fire any missiles onto the USA and still 60 years later we have not lifted the embargo or forgiving them even though they pose zero threat to us. Al Qaida took down our two towers and killed over 3,000 people in order to push our president over the edge. If you were in charge then, would you have gone over the edge? If they took down the towers on a Sunday only killing 20 people would that have been acceptable and not go on the offensive?
P.S: When you report I would appreciate if you report in the sequence of when and how things happen.
    The order is
“Hamas started firing rockets and Israel responded”
“Hamas broke the cease fire by firing rockets at Israel and Israel responded”
“Hamas is firing rockets and bullets at Israel among its own civilian, mosques, schools, hospitals, and population and Israel responded”
You always seem to get it the other way around when reporting. Once is a mistake. Perhaps even twice. However it is always like that with all your reporters at CNN.
Your station was asking the question tonight in regards to the UN. Are they anti-Semites? If I were you I would ask the same question of your station and your staff.
Al Jazeera, who is biased, I expect it from. From CNN is suppose to be neutral and professional it is unacceptable.

During WWII, the U.S. mass bombed many German cities, killing thousands of civilians. The Germans were our enemies. They were killing our soldiers. There was no issue, no discussion about this. It was war. In every war, civilians are killed. Korea, Viet Nam, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan. Why can everyone else kill civilians during a war but not Israel? Why is there no discussion about this?
