"That's my question: where is 'there'" – Erin Burnett asks Dore Gold where civilians can seek safety amid Middle East violence
On the heels of a UN school coming under attack in Gaza, on Wednesday evening Erin Burnett welcomed Dore Gold, asking the Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu where civilians fleeing violence in the Middle East are expected to go.
Hamas has reportedly been using U.N. schools as a storage area for rockets and missiles, a practice that is leaving innocent Palestinians with few options to seek safety. Israel has made attempts to move Palestinians out of areas of conflict, but with the borders closed, Burnett's question remains unanswered.

Dramatic video of Gaza market attack
Following the airing of dramatic video footage of a deadly attack at a Gaza market, on Wednesday evening Erin Burnett welcomed colleague John Vause for an investigation of the dangerous situation.
In the footage, ambulances race to the scene after an initial explosion, only to be greeted by another. The journalist filming the scene was seriously injured in the explosion, but his assistant promptly picked up the camera, and continued rolling, capturing further scenes of horror. The footage, much of it graphic, has been broadcast on Hamas Television.
Hamas officials say the market may have been crowded largely because civilians were under the impression a humanitarian ceasefire was in place. With 17 killed and 200 wounded, they were clearly, and sadly, mistaken.

'The world has to wake up, the United States has to wake up'
On Wednesday evening, Erin Burnett welcomed Maen Areikat, asking the Chief P.L.O. Representative to the U.S. for his assessment of the ongoing unrest between Israel and Hamas.
Thus far, it seems Israel will not back down as long as rockets continue to be launched in its direction. So, Burnett asks her guest, “what is being done to stop Hamas from firing more rockets?”
According to Areikat, “Israel has a habit of lying,” and “the world has to wake up.”
He goes on to state that the U.N. has proof that the shells recently fired at a U.N. school were Israeli.
Erin asks if Hamas should be blamed for incidents like these due to their use of civilian structures for weapon storage. While Areikat agrees that this is a violation of U.N. sanctity, he finds Israel’s action inexcusable, and furthermore condemns America's loyalty to Israel in the crisis:
“It is shameful that the United States is resupplying ammunition to a country that is committing right now war crimes.”

Hamas rejects new truce, fighting rages on
Gaza (CNN) - Hamas and Israel blamed one another Tuesday for the lack of a cease-fire in a conflict that has left more than 1,200 people dead, raising questions about just what it will take to end the fighting in Gaza.
International efforts to broker a deal to end the violence failed again, with Hamas rejecting a cease-fire proposal put forward by the Palestinian Authority that called for a 24-hour truce that could be extended to 72 hours. Hamas maintains that any deal must include an end to Israel's blockade of Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said any truce must allow for its protection against tunnels used by Palestinian militants in Gaza to make their way into Israel.
"Hamas is responsible for all deaths on their side and on our side because they are the ones who kept this conflict going," Mark Regev, a spokesman for Netanyahu, told CNN.
