Right now, the U.S. is in the middle of a humanitarian airdrop aimed at saving the lives of tens of thousands members of a nearly extinct sect in Iraq. The Yazidis were forced from their homes by ISIS and are now trapped in a rugged mountainous area with nowhere to go.
But this is not the first time the Yazidis have been the targets of violence.
Paula Hancocks explains that they have been persecuted for centuries.
