Police revealed Tuesday that Robin Williams hanged himself with a belt inside his California home. There were also cuts around the actor's left wrist.
It was no secret Williams battled depression for some time. But what ultimately drove him to take his own life?
Deborah Feyerick is OutFront with Williams' own words on his personal struggles.
The thing is, you didn't always have to be "on" with us, Robin. We understand that you were human, and we loved you for all the joy you brought to us. We just wish you would have called someone, ANYONE, before doing this...If you had just called, we would have been there for you!! We are so sorry to see you go so soon...Rest easy, Sir Robin, rest easy...
Stop talking about demons! Nobody with depression has "demons" they have a chemical imbalance. If you want to make things better for people with mental illness stop invoking magical evil beings and start using rational, medical language!
"Demons" is just a figure of speech and is basically referring to the problems he suffered from. I'm an atheist, too but I don't see anything "magical" or offensive by mentioning demons.
