Protesters outraged after police release video allegedly of Michael Brown

Ferguson police identified the officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown as 6-year veteran, Darren Wilson. Police also released video Friday they say is of Brown robbing a convenience story before the shooting.

Surveillance video shows the suspected robber shoving the store clerk and stealing a box of cigars.

The police chief later revealed the officer did not stop Brown because he thought Brown was a robbery suspect, but because he was walking in the middle of the street, blocking traffic.

The timing of this revelation has outraged Brown's parents. They claim police are trying to assassinate the character of their son.

Ed Lavandera has more.

It is so heartbreaking, the cop thought he could just push anybody around. Notice how the cop used foul language at the teens. Get the F out of the street. You can see the cop came on with little brains. Shooting M Brown six times is totally ignorant. He could have shot the teen in the knee, or leg, and mained him, but no, because he's a tough cop behind the gun. Michael Brown was a bad a ss, someone you just don't mess with.

Hey everyone, how about hearing the real story about this shooting. Was this kid wrestling the cop for his gun? if he was multiple shots could have happened. Arrest all the protesters who DO NOT live in the Ferguson area and are stirring up trouble. Until the complete story can be released, they are taking center stage and all the time of the people who are investigating to get to the truth.

I knew it would come out like this. The problem with not being equally outraged by this thug behavior is something nobody discusses. Most people attack members of their own race, so most black criminals and thugs will target other blacks. The leading cause of death for young black males is being murdered, not by white cops but by other black men. In the end young men like this destroy other black lives more than cops and the KKK ever will. The black community is sick, and in denial of it's sickness. It's young men are too often amoral thugs, and they are ashamed to talk about it because they think it will encourage white racism. I say, get over it and get real.

Several points….Why was curfew stopped? They need the curfew. The protestors need a time limit…and then rest. The looters need to be arrested. Why are the looters not arrested? Folks are forgetting that this young man is a criminal. Too bad there isn't video showing the altercation with the officer. * Once that young man put his hand on the officer he really showed bad intent, bad thinking, and probably drug induced. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson did nothing to help.
The whole situation was/is handled very poorly.

Hi Erin. I would really like to know if the officer in the Michael Brown case is still being paid.

Thank you. Keep up the great work!

"Outfront" has provided an informative daily recap of major worldwide events. This segment reflects bias and lack of professionalism. Ferguson Police Chief Jackson was repeatedly misquoted during the broadcast, video of the officer's residence was aired, commentators expressing personal feelings instead of reporting facts, these are only a few of this segment's misrepresentation of truth. Looting, arson, and other forms of mayhem certainly do not depict peaceful demonstrations. Robbery, assaullt, and other acts of defiance are not consistent when describing a peaceful law abiding person. Fairness, impartiality, and accurate reporting should never be compromised.

KARMA This video only shows one instance in his life. Look at the ease by which he takes what he wants and physically threatens. A veteran thug even at 15. He likely would have gone on to do awful things to innocents.

Hi Erin, I would like to know how come no one ask the police chief to release the 911 call between the store clerk & the police dispatch or the video of the police taking the incident report in the store with the clerk to show exactly what went on. it might be something we could learn from what the clerk said to the police or see if the police showed up in the store to take the statement from the clerk instead the videos the police chief released so far. Thank you!

kinda tacky that Gieco is advertising on this video and CNN is profiting through that advertising. I get that's how programs earn there keep, but this seems a little insensitive.

The protesters wanted the news to have the full story (which I am and was 100% behind) ... well, this is part of it. They have no right to be outraged.
