one reason never to visit or live in MO. they don't call it Misery for nothing. rapists, child violators, and violence like the murderers get less time than possession of plant. truly, this country has gone to POT. our founding fathers would be 100% disgusted with the NO FREEDOM states we've become. rolling over in their graves. boycott MO and Booze

This man isn't serving a life sentence simply for having 7 pounds of marijuana. He is serving a life sentence because he is a repeat drug offender who violated the state's 3 strikes law. He has at least 2 prior convictions for illegal controlled substances. Also, 7 pounds of marijuana isn't simply for personal use. With this amount he was dealing. Is the punishment excessive, probably yes, but don't make it seem like he is doing life simply for having a little marijuana.

That this would happen over a plant FAR less harmful than alcohol is outrageous! – SAMHSA research determined more than 100 million Americans have consumed marijuana. That's near HALF the of-age population. There are an estimated 30 to 50 million current consumers.

The vast majority consume moderately – on the weekends or less, and are successful, hard-working, respected members of their communities. They are from all walks of life and loved by the families they support.

Since we now know marijuana is less "addictive" than coffee, and far less harmful than alcohol, this is no surprise.

Marijuana is as American as apple pie – and healthier.

I saw that this article did not have any comments yet and that's rare in the American sphere.
Cannabis, commonly known as marijuana in the pot is a hippie thing, that creates every user to a "Messiah" when beat tunes is added outside the pot and spreads from a room to spaces in the western world.
A user task is never less than what this comment claims as: The purpose is A new religion on top of a religion that is crucified by representatives from the past.
If OutFront was a victim and judge in this case, wouldn't then a hippie be tortured for a lifetime.

Just deport him to a state where it's legal, or strike down all pot jail sentences under equal protection. The feds are not prosecuting (wont of prosecution), and if it's medicine, there's no other medicing in the world that's legal in some states but not others. In MO it would be an unregulated, OTC drug.

Time to end this ridiculous prohibition. Maybe Obama will do this on his way out.

The justice system has flaws and is antiquated. How will the penile system deal with inmates that are incarcerated for marijuana offenses once it is legalized... if it is legalized?

Brianna yesterday had a panel discussing if President Obama is slow in discussing or dealing with ISIS. I hope at least the second beheading explains to you why he or any leader is not going to air to you journalists of their motives and plans. Journalists, stop taunting the leaders. Let them take action quietly and productively.
