Man eaten alive by anaconda in the name of reality TV

Remember when reality TV featured people eating live bugs and critters - all for some prize money and 15 minutes of fame? Well now the critters are turning the dinner table on them.

CNN's Jeanne Moos has the story of the guy eaten alive by an anaconda.

Please, next time get eaten so we don't have to deal with you anymore.
I love the plan that they were going to have to kill the snake in order to get the dope out. I hope the snake crushes you next time. Screw with nature, get turned into snake poop.

All you have to hear is that it's The Discovery channel and you know it's bogus. Right up there with the Megalodon hoax and the Submarine: Shark of Darkness hoax. Discovery used to be a channel to watch for information and entertainment. Now it's just producing garbage. Won't even watch it any more because it's a waste of time. Classic case of pure drivel pushing ordinary drivel off the tube...

PETA protesting an Anaconda, really? They are an invasive species and if any one sees them they should kill them on the spot!

IF you are trying to drive people back to using newspapers to get the news, you are doing one hell of a job. I am fed up with having to wade through all these commercials to see the 30 second video of any thing that you are posting.

    SEE YA!!!!!!!

This is ridiculous, and a poor reflection on our tastes in entertainment. For one thing, the man is too big. Then, once inside a snake, a prey animal is diffuicult to get out, even tethered, because of the configuration of a snake's teeth, row upon row, all sharp and bent inward, like a shark's. And snakes, no matter how long, sense threats when they see them and are unlikely to eat anything when aroused by fear. Last time I checked, some 20 years ago, the largest human ever found inside a snake was a 14 year old Indian boy in a reticulated python. Shame on any TV channel that pimps such stuff.

When did this country start creating NEW definitions of words? How about fact checking what "reality" actually means. There are a number of resources to do this, a simple Google search would suffice.

Bigger concern here. Does this speak to the incompetence of TV producers, or the incompetence of those that actually waste their precious lives on watching this garbage?

The truth sounds like hate to those that hate the truth. CNN not allowing comments for political stories is because they are lockstep with the new communist democratic party. They want to deceive as many as they can and do not allow truth or dissent.

CNN only allows comments on non stories because they really hate freedom of speech, and are in bed with the same lobbyists funding both parties. God forbid anyone should bring up a REAL discussion like how the Federal Reserve Banks controls this country, just like lobbyists control BOTH political parties. Theres a reason the mainstream media is tanking, nobody is buying your bull anymore.

You can always have a real discussion about topics that concern you with real people in the real world. Start with friends. Be daring and stand out in public and engage people verbally. Ask people if they agree with you. See if they care. People on here could just be kids or trolls. In the real world you'll know who you are actually talking to. This should not be considered a realistic forum to express ideas. It's cute to read, though! Kinda like horoscopes. It's hard to take it seriously but sad when you realize some people actually do. Enjoy the outdoors!

Why get so heated? It's just the usual five-minute entertainment tage by Jeanne Moos, not part of some grand conspiracy, unless there's a conspiracy to look foolish.

This is simply disgusting. Sensationalism for reviews, or just for a cheap "thrill", at the expense of a creature that should be allowed to just live its life. I hate crap like that, and I HOPE that I am not alone. 🙁

Hate to point out that the word eaten is being used incorrectly. If the man does not die, and especially if the man is in no way digested, he is not eaten alive, that would be called swallowed alive.

Parents need to ask themselves why they are allowed to be parents if their toddlers can get hold of these soap bombs. Stop blaming other people. Where do you keep your bleach, where do you keep your knives, where do you keep your alcohol, etc.?

I hate watching CNN videos because they have the bottom 20% of the video blocked by their giant opaque banner. We know we are watching CNN because that's the web page we are on. Often the key part is UNDER the banner!

Yes! when the two window washers were being rescued the other day, just at the point where they got them through the window, their banner was blocking the entire thing, I had to change channels and put on FoxNews to see it.

BudW–It is because partisan twits like you treat politics like a sporting event and leave inane comments that boil down to "My team is better than your team!". Maybe if people like you actually tried to engage in an intelligent exchange of views and ideas it would have worked. Sadly, most Americans, no matter the party affiliation, are unable to grasp this simple concept. In other words, try growing up and maybe you will be allowed to sit at the big boy table again.

Your comment was going so well on the intelectual level untill you grouped Americans as inmature. So you totally blew your chance at intelligent conversation when you started to speak stupidly. Don't just group people together and label them something, that is what people who cannot have deep thoughts do, group things up to make it easier to digest, make it simpler. Just like a simpleton.

I disagree with your comment that "most Americans........", I think if you read the comments and filter out trolls, replies to trolls, and partisan extremists, you'll find many thoughtful comments using civil dialog. Unfortunately those people make their point and move on unlike the ones addicted to snarkey and outrageous remarks on comment boards. So CNN and other media publishers cannot censor all of the traffic on their sites, so far easier for them to just eliminate public comments. If you know anything about marketing, negative opinion is more valuable than positive as it keeps the customer engaged longer, so not to their advantage to make decisions based on their liberal agenda.

They block them for most/all political stories because the CNN comment section becomes the gutter of society within minutes. They're filled with hate speech, illogical arguments, flaming, trolling, taunting, and nothing productive. Your comment for example isn't productive.
