Should companies pay their interns?

The White House is under growing pressure to pay its interns.

As it stands:

  • Internships at the White House are not paid.
  • Housing is not provided
  • Interns should expect to work Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm

One advocacy group claims just because you call someone an intern doesn't mean you can get out of paying them minimum wage.

Does their argument add up? Or is the experience a student gets worth its weight in gold? After all, you come in with no skills, and you leave with the ability to get a real, good job.
