Avlon: Obama's 'Romney Hood' tactic is more a social-justice argument rather than an economic one

President Barack Obama on Monday added a new attack line to his arsenal - 'Romney Hood.' The President says Mitt Romney's tax proposals amount to "Robin Hood in reverse."

"It's Romney Hood," the president added to loud applause from 500 supporters in a Stamford, Connecticut ballroom.

In his latest column for The Daily Beast, John Avlon points out that President Obama's strategy exposes a problem with his own tax plan. Avlon says, Obama is making fairness the goal instead of the economics.

When is the best time to talk gun control?

Within 24-hours of the Colorado movie theater shooting that left 12 dead and 58 wounded, talks of gun control gained traction in national news media. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg called on President Barack Obama and his rival presidential candidate Mitt Romney to share with the American people their stance on gun regulation.

Both presidential candidates took considerable time before speaking on whether they would stand for new laws on gun control.

In his latest column for CNN.com, John Avlon asks when is the appropriate time to discuss common sense gun control after a mass killing, like the one in Aurora.
